Lets say you lift weights hard enough for your arms to be sore for 3 days.Workout monday, sore on tuesday and wednsday, rest thursday, workout friday, so on.If i do this for 3 months, how much muscle mass will be added?im not talking about mass as in pounds especifically, it can be ounces as well, even grams
Lifting weights does not in it self increase muscle. It burns fat. But also absorbs protien that is also existant in your body. Therefore eat a lowfat high protien diet. And also never exercise the same muscles two days in a row. Exercise arms one day, the legs the next and then the abdomen. Even muscles need aday off. Otherwise you tear them apart, and waste them. So eat good and have a happy full body work out.

With that type of workout….I doubt even ounces. If I’m not seriously mistaken, Amino Acids which create the protein for muscles (especially the less necessary ones, aka not the heart) are quickly devoured by the body if they aren’t converted into proteins. If you work yourself hard enough that you’re sore for 2 days and thus cannot exercise for 2 days, those acids are decomposed and you don’t really gain anything. (could be wrong, not a physical therapist yet)
The best workout regimine is to excercise up to the point that you feel a very slight strain, stop, rest, and repeat the next day or the day after. With that type of workout you’d have a six-pack and fairly nice muscles within a 3 month period. You wouldn’t be a body builder but you’d be strong compared to half of this obese world. (this I am right about, as it was told to me by my own physical therapist)
