Panic disorder and anxiety attacks. Is either of these a problem for you? The view these days is that they are more or less the same thing.
Both produce the same symptoms and both are extremely worrying if you are a victim. No matter how mild or severe your symptoms. It’s still on hell of a scary experience.
Whether you put yourself in the panic attack or anxiety disorder group doesn’t really matter. It’s important to get control as soon as possible. Something, anything that helps to keep these symptoms under control.
I’ve witnessed how bad these attacks can be and realised the need for a cure, fast! There are of course plenty of prescription drugs that you can try. I’d advise getting a proper check-up as soon as possible just in case anything more sinister is going on.
If you’re pretty sure you have had, or are having panic or anxiety attacks. My advice would be to opt for a non drug treatment. There at least two reasons why I say that.
For a kick off you want to swerve any side effects if you can. The other reason is that medication programs are mostly only short term things. Most good doctors would shy away from a longer term medication program.
I’d expect your doctor to want to stop your medication as quickly as they safely can. No doubt the thought has crossed your mind about coming off the drugs, and the consequences. That’s a very good question.
I think you’ll be pleased to know that you don’t need to rely on drugs. There are other methods that will work better. And they don’t use drugs of any sort. No drugs or (costly) hypnotherapy sessions.
These drug free techniques were put together by other panic attack victims. Victims who have conquered the problem. These techniques teach you to recognise when an attack is looming. You can easily then halt the attack from getting a grip.
Your choice now is this…live with your panic attacks and anxiety disorder. Or decide to take control and teach yourself some killer techniques.
